Abha Mehndiratta works as a Consultant with ACCESS Health International, India. Dr Abha Mehndiratta is a paediatrician with more than 9 years of clinical experience. She has a Diplomate of National Board degree in paediatrics from the National Board of Education, India. She has done her M.B.B.S and D.C.H from Goa University following which she obtained her D.N.B degree. Abha’s work in ACCESS Health focuses on improvement of clinical processes in the healthcare sector in order to improve the safety and quality of hospital services. She has been trained on process improvement in South Africa by Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Abha’s prior clinical work includes experience at St Philomena’s Hospital, Bhagwan Mahavir Jain Hospital and Dr B.R Ambedkar Medical College as well as a consultant in S.G.L hospital, which is a 250 bed Hospital in rural Punjab. She has also worked as a consultant for Philadelphia Hospital, Ambala, which is a part of the collaborative of hospitals run by the Church of North India. She worked in a semi urban setting and was instrumental in providing care to underprivileged children. Her most recent clinical experience was in the NICU of NICE Hospital (Neonatal Intensive Care and Emergencies), Hyderabad. Her experience in varied health organizations ranging from public sector, charitable to corporate hospitals has given insight on the different challenges which these organizations face in their processes.

Adrian Levitsky is a Research Technician at Karolinska Institutet's (KI) ClinTRID department for Inflammatory (Autoimmune) Disease research. He is Manager and blogger for the Silverevolution initiative of ACCESS Health International. He defended his Masters in Global Health at KI with analysis of global key stakeholders of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) and Traditional Medicine (TM). He has a background starting as a pilot at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Aeronautical Science, but turned to studying Human Factors Psychology where the relationship between humans and their devices are improved. Teaching English in South Korea made him realize the need for innovation and imagination for all school curricula in order to solve today’s dilemmas.

Anand Tatambhotla is a Program Manager at ACCESS Health International, India. Anand’s work at ACCESS focuses on understanding the barriers to medicine access in rural India. He is a Chemical Engineering graduate from IIT Bombay. He has worked at multiple companies in the management consulting industry where he has advised several fortune 500 companies on globalization, market access, cost optimization and go-to-market strategies. As a management consultant, Anand has also worked with the many industry bodies including NASSCOM, India Semiconductor Association, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council etc. to provide knowledge support for various policy making initiatives.

Catherine Mcpherson works as a Consultant with ACCESS Health International, Singapore. She is completing a combined Bachelor of Arts-Psychology and Bachelor of Health, with a personal focus on gender and sexuality in health. Catherine is the Advocacy and Health Promotion Coordinator for a major community fundraising event with Cancer Council NSW and has worked on advocacy campaigns throughout the region. She has been elected to a position of leadership on the university’s Academic Senate and also served as Women’s Representative, coordinating events and services for women on campus. Catherine has also acted as a research assistant for child psychology research and has volunteered in child protection programs for at-risk children from refugee backgrounds. She is interested in health promotion, reproductive health and gender and sexual diversity.

Echo Collins Egan is program manager of ACCESS Health Morocco. Echo holds a first class Bachelors degree with honours from University College London and has a Masters degree in Development, Globalisation and Gender from the London School of Economics. She speaks English, Spanish, French and Catalan fluently and has worked as a translator in the development sector, she is currently learning Arabic. Echo has experience working in Tanzania and India and has done several internships in NGOs such Medicos del Mundo and Missing People. Echo is currently identifying and documenting Moroccan health care financing and delivery practices with a view to designing ACCESS' first Moroccan program hopefully in the field of eye care.

Dr Elmer Soriano is the Country Manager at the ACCESS Health International office, located in Manila. H e holds an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Masters in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management, a doctor of medicine degree from the Philippines. Dr. Soriano has over 15 years of experience in public health and development management. He spent many years designing and installing health micro-insurance systems for cooperatives and microfinance institutions to serve the informal sector. He was actively involved in a governance innovations program in the Philippines and wrote a number of papers on health governance and has published works under the ILO, GTZ, WHO and World Bank. During his free time, he runs an MIT-affiliated incubator course called NextLab which gets students to develop cellphone-based solutions for the Base of the Pyramid.

Ikram Khan works at ACCESS Health India as a Program Manager, working on a PPP model to improve infant survival in the state of Bihar. He has been trained on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in Healthcare in Bangkok by The World Bank Institute, Washington DC. Ikram holds a Master’s in Public Health from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani and is also a physiotherapist by education. Prior to joining ACCESS Health, he worked with a management consultancy advising US medical device companies on clinical intelligence. He has also worked on ASHA, a pilot project with the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), as a summer intern. Ikram has authored a report “Status of Healthcare Industry in India” published by BITS-Pilani.

Prabal Singh is Director of Research of ACCESS Health International, India. His work is focussed upon health financing. Prabal has a doctorate in public systems from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad, through the Fellow Programme in Management in Public Systems. His thesis looked into the implication of the provider payment system used in the Chiranjeevi initiative of the Govt. of Gujarat on health service delivery outcomes. Prabal has more than ten years of experience in working in the health sector, both public and private. He has also worked on the National e-Governance Plan of Government of India. He has published in refereed International Journals as well.

Priya is an Associate Director at ACCESS Health International, India. Her work is focused on maternal and child health. She heads three large projects both in the domain of research and creating proof of concept for innovative health service delivery addressing problems related to the poorest and deprived populations. Priya holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management from Institute of Rural Management, IRMA and a Bachelor’s degree in Law. She has over a decades' experience in design, management and monitoring of health service delivery in India. Some of the areas she has worked on include improving contraceptive prevalence, improving access to primary health care in over 400 urban slums, containing the prevalence of HIV among high risk communities as well as reaching maternal and child health care to underserved and remote areas. She has also handled projects funded by USAID, World Bank, European Commission and DFID and on research projects in sectors like agriculture, power and livelihood.

Rohini Kalvakuntla has a double masters in International Business and Social Policy and Development from King's College London and London School of Economics and Political Sciences respectively. She is with ACCESS as a Program Manager for Public-Private Partnerships. She has also been actively working on drug access and affordability. Rohini has previously worked for Center for Economic and Social Studies (CESS) where her work encompassed in the micro finance sector.

Ruchi Prasad works as a Program Manager with ACCESS Health International, India. Ruchi is a general management professional with extensive experience in the corporate and quasi-government sectors. She has anchored roles in operations, Human Resource Management and strategy planning in different industries including retail, Information Technology and healthcare. She has also been involved in capacity building programs in Information and Communication Technology and livelihoods. She has done her post graduation from Institute of Rural Management, Anand and graduation in economics from Lady Sriram College, Delhi.

Sam Thorp works as a Consultant with ACCESS Health International, Singapore. He holds a combined Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Science (Hones) as well as a Diploma of Innovation Management from the University of New South Wales. He has recently returned from the Graduate Program at Singularity University, held at the NASA Ames Research Centre. Sam is a Biotechnologist/Business Strategist with a background in Parkinson’s disease, game theory and entrepreneurship. He has worked previously in marketing at Cellabs, a small diagnostic company, and is one of the winners of the 2007 Peter Farrell Cup for business planning. He is a serial volunteer, organising festivals, theatrical shows, and AIESEC conferences.

Sireesha Perabathina is a Program Manager with ACCESS Health International, India. Sireesha is a Ford Foundation Fellow with a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Boston University School of Public Health; and an MBA in Health care from IIHRM, India. She has close to eight years of health care experience and over six years of strong program management and administrative experience within health care domain. Sireesha has been extensively involved in program design, management and implementation support for integrated health system solutions, training and capacity building of partner organizations on leadership, management and maternal and child health issues.

Sofi Bergkvist is the Managing Director of ACCESS Health International, India. An economist with a focus on efficient health care delivery, Sofi has a Master of Science degree in International Economics from Stockholm School of Economics and has studied at the MBA program at McGill in Montreal. She manages the health care initiative collaborating with the Centre for Emerging Markets Solutions (CEMS) has a special interest in health finance. Prior to this, Sofi was a health care analyst for a private equity firm with investments in India. She has also worked in management consulting on outsourcing of public sector services, with UNFPA in Malawi and carried out a cost-effectiveness study of the national Road Map for reduced maternal mortality. Sofi has also worked as an advisor to the European Commission's Delegation to the United Nations on sustainable development issues.

Stephanie Treschow is the Country Manager of ACCESS Health International, Sweden. She has a background in banking and holds a Master of Science in Finance from Stockholm School of Economics. Stéphanie has worked as Equity Sales Analyst at Citigroup in London where she advised global institutional clients on global equities. Prior to that she did several internships for global institutional banks in New York, London and Stockholm. She has worked with the private charitable foundation, The World We Want, in identifying and evaluating projects aimed at poverty alleviation and solutions to environmental degradation.

Sreeraj is a Public Health professional with expertise in global health research and policy development. He has over six-years of experience working in the healthcare sector in India and the USA. Previously he has worked with WHO & Johns Hopkins School of Medicine on Global Patient Safety Solution Survey and Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (US-Healthcare Reform Bill) with Young Invincibles in Washington DC. He has also worked with AXA Equitable & United Healthcare in India on process improvement and training in insurance underwriting. Prior to ACCESS Health International, he worked with Brickwork Ratings as a Research Analyst, assisting them in setting up a Health and Policy Management Institute in Bangalore, and also developed a Hospital Rating Model. Sreeraj holds a Master’s of Science degree in International Health Policy and Management from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management-Brandeis University, Boston-USA; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery from Goa University, India.

Vasantha Kumar works on high-volume low-cost hospitals models and chronic diseases programs. He holds a Postgraduate degree in Business Administration. Prior to joining ACCESS Health International, Vasantha worked as a consultant for five years at Aravind Eye Care System, Madurai. His responsibilities included implementing the “Aravind Model” which is known for its high volume, high quality and low cost health care service delivery to other parts of the country. He has also worked in Uttar Pradesh for 2 years and was instrumental in starting and running the hospitals from the ground. His work also includes exclusive market analysis in Rajasthan & Maharashtra on initiating eye hospitals. Vasantha also has extensive experience in teaching health care professionals on modules like patient care management and management system development.

Vivek Gupta works as Process Improvement Associate with ACCESS Health International, India. He has done Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery with a Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management form Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad. Vivek's work in ACCESS Health focuses on improvement of processes in Eye care Collaborative and Neonatal Collaborative on improving newborn care in India with a focus on decreasing Healthcare Associated Infections.
